MR4RP (Jerry and Mary). The Guard was our #2 for the week and what a find! Cast, story, location, cinematography – it had the whole package. Brendan Gleeson was pitch perfect as a very unconventional Irish Garda. Don Cheadle was the flip side as a by the book FBI agent. Lots of chuckles (“let me slip into something a little less comfortable”), an engaging look at Ireland, wonderful secondary characters (that little boy!), crazy bad guys you love to hate and a story you care about. We have to give this “See opening weekend at full price” although we came to it a bit late and saw at senior rate This may go to DVD quickly – but see it on the big screen while you can – even if you need to pay full price.
