Gets the second rating “Not Quite But Almost ….”. The movie could have gone for cheap laughs but it was a complex story — sad and funny as father and son struggled to learn about themselves and create a new relationship. We loved the cast. Small parts were huge. Mary Page Kellior was wonderful as the mom dealing with the truth she knew she couldn’t change. We never felt it was preachy or a message movie. Just a good story with characters you cared for and rooted on to whatever they were seeking.
Yes to all your comments — what a marvelous film with tremendous casting to tell the story of the film maker and his father. We were charmed and touched as well.
